1. Why have I never heard of LIET CORP?

LIET CORP is the new, general lighting arm of OceanLED. Operating for 7 years and drawing from 25 years of experience, OceanLED is the worlds most accredited and pioneering marine LED lighting manufacturer. In 2010 LIET CORP was established to take the architectural lights to the commercial market. In this short space of time, we have grown to become sole suppliers of lighting to some of the UK’s largest and most popular restaurant, pub and hotel chains.

2. Why is your product more expensive than a retro fit bulb?

For a start, our product is not a bulb, it is a light engine, and therefore different rules are involved in its creation. At LIET CORP, our products are designed from first principal engineering, here, in the UK by specialist engineering experts. Secondly, you really do “get what you pay for”. Our products are an investment, not a simple purchase. You will see the returns that pioneering technology brings over many years, including reliability, longevity of 100K hours, impeccable light quality, low energy consumption and low carbon emissions.

3. Why do the products look so different to retrofit bulbs?

Retrofit LED bulbs squeeze modern technology into outmoded housings. LEDs are cool running, and the cooler they run the better they perform. Therefore, LIET CORP products are designed around the LEDs and not the fitting in order to give them space to dissipate heat. This means that our products are run more softly, giving unprecedented performance, output and longevity.

4. Do they dim?

Yes. Fairly uniquely to LIET CORP, our LED products are fully dimmable with all systems including Dali.

5. What makes you different from all the other bulb “sellers”?

The difference between us and other bulb “sellers” is that we design, manufacture, test and market our products. No other company can offer you the type of intimate service and consultancy that LIET CORP can.

6. Why should I change my fittings instead of just using a retrofit bulb?

By using existing fittings designed for filament technology, you are locking yourself into a vicious cycle of waste. Energy waste, carbon waste and economic waste. Our fittings are designed purely for the products and therefore allow them to perform in the way they were intended.

7. We have had our fingers burnt with LED’s before what makes yours different?

We have more history than any other company with LED technology, so we have experienced all of the problems that other lighting companies are currently experiencing. The difference is that we invested heavily in solving those issues years ago, so we are in a position to offer you a fully independently tried and tested product that is assured to give you the results you want.

8. What happens if I have any problems/failures?

All our products are supported with a 5-year warranty and as a company we are a small and flexible enough to investigate your individual problem with Technical Engineers and warranty specialists to find a solution.

9. Can you match my existing colour temperature?

In theory yes. We have light engines that run at 2600 Kelvin through 3200K, 4000K and 6500K. We are also able to attached colour correcting filters in a number of shades.

10. Can they be used outside?

All of our products are at least IP66 rated. That means they are weatherproof. We also have fully waterproof products that can be submerged in any depths of water.

11. What is ECA?

ECA is Enhanced Capital Allowance. It is a government scheme for ultra efficient technologies. This means that a customer of ours who installs LIET is able to write off the full cost of the installation against their corporate tax bill in the year of the installation. This effectively means that 30% of the cost of LIET is paid for out of a reduced corporate tax bill that the company now does not have to pay because they have invested in LIET CORP.

12. Why are your lights ECA compliant?

Our lights have had to conform to the strictest of regulations to qualify for ECA. The ultra-low energy consumption, high light output and low carbon emissions of our products has meant that we achieved these regulations easily.
